Public confidence in the Philippine government has plunged to its lowest point in three years, according to a recent nationwide survey conducted by market research firm Tangere. The study reveals that seven out of ten Filipinos now support calls for a snap election, reflecting widespread dissatisfaction across all branches of government.
The House of Representatives registered the highest level of public distrust at 42%, followed by the Senate at 39%. The Office of the President was not spared, with 30% of respondents expressing a lack of confidence. While the Office of the Vice President had the lowest distrust rating at 28%, only 45% of Filipinos said they trusted the office — falling short of a majority.
The call for a snap election, led by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, appears to resonate strongly with the public. Support is especially high in Visayas and Mindanao, where 75% of respondents favor an early vote.
In the event of a snap election, Vice President Sara Duterte emerged as the leading presidential candidate with 43% voter preference, particularly strong in Visayas and Mindanao. Former Vice President Leni Robredo followed with 23%, drawing support mainly from Metro Manila, CALABARZON, and the Bicol Region.
For the vice presidency, Senator Bong Go led with 30% preference, while Senator Bam Aquino trailed at 20%. Voter motivations mirrored regional loyalties and political affiliations similar to those seen in the presidential race.
The non-commissioned survey was conducted on October 6–7, 2025, using Tangere’s mobile-based respondent app. It sampled 1,500 participants nationwide with a ±2.48% margin of error at a 95% confidence level. Respondents were distributed across regions: 12% from NCR, 23% from Northern Luzon, 22% from Southern Luzon, 20% from Visayas, and 23% from Mindanao.
