Vice President Sara Duterte continues to lead the nation’s trust ratings, securing 55 percent in the latest February 2026 survey. She also garnered a 48 percent satisfaction rating for her performance as Vice President, underscoring strong public approval as she formally enters the presidential race.
Support for Duterte remains anchored in Mindanao and the Visayas, where her “native daughter” status and the enduring Duterte political brand bolster her standing. However, the survey also revealed growing dissatisfaction among urban and affluent sectors, signaling potential challenges ahead.
Marcos Gains Ground
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. registered a notable 6 percent increase in his trust ratings, now at 35 percent, with an approval rating of 32 percent. The improvement is largely attributed to recent executive orders that took effect in January 2026, including:
EO 107: Salary increases and subsistence allowance adjustments for military and uniformed personnel.
EO 105: Flexible rice tariff scheme to balance farmer and consumer interests.
EO 100 & 101: Palay procurement programs to stabilize farmgate prices.
The survey noted that lower-income demographics (Class E) responded most favorably to these initiatives, contributing to the President’s rebound.
Legislative Leaders See Positive Shifts
Senate President Tito Sotto recorded a 6 percent rise in trust and satisfaction ratings, buoyed by legislative progress in January. Key measures included the Classroom-Building Acceleration Program (CAP) Act, the Health Outreach for Seniors and Indigents Program, and the Banking Reform for Integrity, Good Governance, Honesty, and Transparency (BRIGHT) Act.
Meanwhile, House Speaker Faustino “Bodjie” Dy III posted a 3 percent gain, reflecting growing public awareness of his leadership. His ratings were linked to the passage of the 2026 National Budget, amendments to the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA), new Social Protection Acts, and the establishment of the National Center for Geriatric Health.
