President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed Congress to prioritize the passage of four key legislative measures aimed at strengthening governance and accountability. During a Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting held at Malacañan Palace, the President identified the Anti-Dynasty Bill, the Independent People’s Commission Act, the Party-list System Reform Act, and the Citizens Access and Disclosure of Expenditures for National Accountability (CADENA) Act as urgent measures.
Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro announced that both the Senate and the House of Representatives were instructed to take a closer look at the proposals and ensure their swift passage.
The LEDAC also agreed on timelines for the approval of the 2026 General Appropriations Act and the submission of the bill for the President’s signature. Senate President Vicente Sotto III, House Speaker Faustino Dy III, Majority Leader Sandro Marcos, and other congressional leaders attended the meeting, underscoring the administration’s push to meet its legislative goals.
