The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) is prepared to brief the Senate on its programs and policies, Malacañang said Friday.
This comes after Senator Robinhood Padilla filed a resolution seeking a Senate investigation into the PCO’s alleged dissemination of “unverified, potentially propagandizing, and misleading information” that he claimed contributed to public confusion.
PCO acting Secretary Dave Gomez expressed readiness to cooperate with the Senate should it conduct an inquiry. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro emphasized that the agency welcomes the resolution, saying it will help clarify matters and assist lawmakers in their work.
Castro, however, described Padilla’s allegations as “disappointing,” noting that if the senator had watched the PCO’s press briefings in full, he would have seen how the office presents government programs and projects in a factual and service-oriented manner.
