President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. formally received the credentials of five newly designated non-resident ambassadors in a ceremony held at Malacañan Palace on Tuesday.
The envoys represent Tunisia, Paraguay, Burkina Faso, the Marshall Islands, and Serbia, marking the official start of their diplomatic tenure in the Philippines.
The ambassadors include His Excellency Mohamed Trabelsi of Tunisia, His Excellency Miguel Angel Ubaldino Romero Alvarez of Paraguay, Her Excellency Bibata Nebie/Ouedraogo of Burkina Faso, Her Excellency Anjanette Kattil of the Marshall Islands, and Her Excellency Ivana Golubović-Duboka of Serbia.
The presentation of credentials underscores the mutual commitment of the Philippines and these nations to strengthen bilateral relations and foster international cooperation. The Philippines first established diplomatic ties with Tunisia in 1975, Paraguay in 1962, Burkina Faso in 2002, the Marshall Islands in 1988, and Serbia in 1972.
