The Philippines and Singapore have reaffirmed their strong bilateral ties during the 7th Informal Consultations on the Philippines-Singapore Action Plan (IC‑PSAP) held in Singapore on November 18.
The meeting was co-chaired by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Policy Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega of the Philippines and Permanent Secretary Albert Chua of Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Building on previous consultations and recent high-level visits, the talks featured comprehensive discussions on ongoing and potential initiatives across multiple sectors.
Both sides emphasized opportunities to expand Philippine agricultural exports to Singapore.
Delegations exchanged views on collaboration in energy, climate change, carbon credit initiatives, water and waste management, smart infrastructure, and biodiversity conservation.
New avenues were explored to strengthen defense and maritime cooperation.
Joint efforts were discussed to combat online scams affecting the region.
The consultations also touched on developments in ASEAN, particularly the Philippines’ upcoming chairmanship in 2026.
