President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to regional cooperation and inclusive economic growth during his keynote address at the APEC CEO Summit 2025, Gyeongju, Republic of Korea.
In front of global business leaders and policymakers, President Marcos declared, “The Philippines is open, ready, and eager to do business with all of you,” emphasizing the country’s proactive stance in shaping an “open, dynamic, resilient, and peaceful Asia-Pacific region.”

The President spotlighted the nation’s digital transformation efforts, citing major investments in digital infrastructure to ensure that “connectivity reaches all Filipinos.” He also highlighted the National AI Strategy Roadmap, which aims to harness artificial intelligence for innovation and productivity, and the Digitalization of MSMEs Program, designed to empower small entrepreneurs and guarantee that “no Filipino is left behind in the digital economy.”
President Marcos also outlined key economic reforms, including the newly enacted Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Code, the CREATE MORE Act to enhance fiscal incentives, and green financing initiatives to support sustainable development.
As the Philippines prepares to chair the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2026, the President pledged to build a “more connected, competitive, and sustainable regional economy—driven by deeper cooperation and shared growth.”
The summit marks a pivotal moment for the Philippines as it positions itself as a hub for innovation, investment, and inclusive development in the Asia-Pacific region.
