The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) of the Philippines played a pivotal role in the 7th Katipunan Conference held on October 15–16 at the IGB-KAL Theater, University of the Philippines-Diliman, by hosting a luncheon that bridged policy and academia.

Themed *“Philippine Strategic Outlook 2025: National Security and Economic Resilience in a Changing Global Order,”* the conference convened scholars, national security experts, and economic development practitioners to explore the country’s strategic direction amid global shifts. Organized by UP CIDS, Ateneo School of Government, Ateneo Policy Center, Miriam College, and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the event underscored collaborative policy-making.

FSI’s luncheon featured Dr. Darren J. Lim, Senior Lecturer at the Australian National University, whose insights enriched discussions on foreign policy and regional dynamics. The event also marked the continued implementation of FSI’s Memorandum of Understanding with UP, signed in 2024, reinforcing its commitment to academic research and diplomatic training.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Hon. Maria Theresa P. Lazaro delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the Department of Foreign Affairs’ dedication to strategic foresight and resilience.

As the DFA’s training and research arm, FSI remains at the forefront of cultivating informed diplomacy through partnerships and thought leadership.
