The Philippine National Police (PNP) has declared a full alert status across the National Capital Region beginning 5:00 p.m. today, September 19, in preparation for the upcoming anti-corruption protest rally scheduled for September 21. The move follows a directive from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure public safety and maintain peace and order during the nationwide demonstration.

Over 50,000 police personnel have been mobilized across the country, with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) fully deployed. Police Regional Offices and the Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) are also on heightened readiness for rapid deployment. Coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and other government agencies is ongoing to ensure unified security operations.

“This is a proactive measure to safeguard the right to peaceful assembly while preventing any attempt to disrupt public order,” said Acting PNP Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. “Our priority is the safety of everyone—protesters, bystanders, and the community at large.”

PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaño urged rally organizers and participants to work closely with local authorities and adhere to lawful conduct. “The PNP stands ready, together with the AFP and partner agencies, to protect both freedom of expression and the peace of our communities,” he said

The PNP reaffirmed its commitment to uphold the Constitution, protect the public, and maintain a secure environment for all lawful activities.
