Malacañang on Wednesday welcomed the election of Faustino Dy III as the new Speaker of the House of Representatives, expressing optimism about continued collaboration to address the pressing concerns of the Filipino people.
In a statement released by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the Palace also extended its gratitude to outgoing Speaker Martin Romualdez for his role in advancing President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas legislative agenda.
“The President recognizes the vital role of the House of Representatives, especially at a time when the public demands visible results and Congress is called upon to take active steps that address people’s concerns and deliver real improvements in daily life,” the Palace said.
Malacañang reaffirmed its respect for the independence of the legislative branch and emphasized its commitment to working constructively with all lawmakers.
“We respect the independence of the chamber and acknowledge the contributions of former Speaker Martin Romualdez. We now look forward to working with Speaker Faustino Dy III to advance measures that strengthen the economy, ensure basic services, and protect our democracy,” the statement read.
The Palace added that the administration remains focused on forging partnerships across political lines to ensure that government efforts remain centered on the needs of Filipino families and the nation’s progress.
