President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday called on the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to remain steadfast in their loyalty to the Constitution and the Filipino people, as he led the oath-taking ceremony for newly promoted generals and flag officers at Malacañan Palace.
“Huwag kalimutan: Ang panunumpa ninyo ngayon ay sa Republika at sa bawat Pilipinong nagtitiwala na dahil sa inyo, sila ay mabubuhay nang ligtas at may dangal,” the President said, reminding the officers of their solemn duty.

Marcos described the ceremony as both a milestone and a reaffirmation of the military’s commitment to democratic principles and national service.
“Today is not only a milestone but a renewed pledge that your loyalty remains with the Constitution and the Filipino people,” he added.
The Commander-in-Chief emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline, and leadership among the AFP’s top brass, urging them to serve as role models for younger members of the uniformed services.
“These new stars you’ll carry will demand your utmost discipline, honor, and service,” he said.
President Marcos also commended the AFP for its achievements throughout the year, citing their professionalism and preparedness in safeguarding national sovereignty.
“These accomplishments underscore the professionalism, the dedication, and the readiness of the Armed Forces,” he said. “They also strengthen the confidence of our people in your ability to protect our sovereignty and to uphold the values that we hold as a nation.”
He noted that the AFP continues to enhance its operational capabilities through rigorous training, simulations, and command exercises—efforts that ensure the military remains responsive and ready to defend the country.
