President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has once again called out negligent contractors, this time after uncovering a “ghost” flood control project in Baliuag, Bulacan. Days later, Metro Manila was hit by flash floods following heavy rains, prompting class suspensions and traffic chaos.
“If all of these projects were properly executed and implemented, ang laki nang nawala na problema sana sa atin at saka sa mga taumbayan,” Marcos said, stressing that proper implementation could have improved irrigation, water supply, and household access to clean water.

The President inspected several flood control projects reported via the Sumbong sa Pangulo website, where he found substandard structures and fake completions falsely declared by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
He ordered the blacklisting of involved contractors and the filing of graft and economic sabotage charges. The sumbongsapangulo.ph platform was launched following his fourth SONA to investigate irregularities in flood control projects amid recurring typhoon-season flooding.
