STATEMENT OF DMW SECRETARY HANS LEO C CACDAC ON THE TRAGIC DEATH OF AN OFW IN KUWAIT

The Department of Migrant Workers expresses its profound sorrow over the tragic death of a domestic worker who was slain in Kuwait in the last quarter of 2024.


The primary suspect is currently in custody of the Kuwaiti authorities. Our legal team in Kuwait is closely coordinating with the local authorities in the ongoing investigation.
We are in communication with the OFW’s family and have assured them of our full assistance and services during this critical time.


As we await further details in the investigation, we remain proactive and unwavering in safeguarding the rights and welfare of our OFWs. The DMW through the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait and the Migrant Workers Office shall provide legal assistance in the prosecution of the case against the prime suspect and will ensure that justice is delivered to our slain OFW and her family.
