NAVAL FORCES EASTERN MINDANAO CONDUCTS RELIEF OPERATIONS IN FLOOD STRICKEN DAVAO ORIENTAL

 The Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao through BRP TAGBANUA (LC296) renders its assistance to DSWD XI in delivering food packs to flood-stricken areas in Davao Oriental on February 4, 2024.

A total of 19, 170 food packs were provided by the DSWD XI and were loaded aboard LC296 for transportation to Davao Oriental Province. Said food packs are intended to be distributed to flood-affected families in Governor Generoso and Mati City. Due to continuous heavy rain brought about by the trough of a LPA which caused landslides and has swept away bridges in the municipality of Caraga, Lupon and in Mati City, making roads impassable resulting in delayed relief operations. Thus, NFEM utilized its vessels to be able to reach those communities that were isolated because of the flood.

In light of this, NFEM vows its service and collaboration with other government agencies/private sectors by providing support and assistance for those who are in need in these trying times.
